You can go fishing on the Kruth-Wildenstein lake, just 8 minutes away. You can also go hiking and cycling in the surrounding area.

The Kruth train station is just 200 m away, providing links to Mulhouse station, from where you can travel to all major train stations, as well as to Mulhouse-Basel airport.

Kruth-Wildenstein lake and Arbre Aventure park

Situated just 3 kilometers from the Auberge de France, this 81-hectare lake boasts a nautical base where you'll find canoes, pedalos and surf bikes (a type of canoe topped by a bicycle).

Nearby, the Parc Arbre Aventure offers a wide range of activities every summer, on land, in the air and in the water: tree climbing, mountain biking, geocaching, zip lines, archery, mountain biking, electric bikes, geocaching, paragliding lessons, pedal boats..

Skiing

Le Frenza small mountain hamlet perched 770 m above Kruth, is ideal for beginners. Ideal for learning to ski away from the crowds of the big resorts, its two slopes are specially designed for beginners, and night skiing is also possible. Snow lovers can also enjoy tobogganing on a secure run. Snowshoeing is also possible (snowshoe rentals available from the lift ticket office)

Skiing

At Markstein (20km), at an altitude of 1260 meters, a wide range of downhill skiing is available on 12 runs from green to black, 8 ski lifts and a slalom stadium that has hosted World Cup events.

Other attractions include snowshoeing, a Nordic ski area with 40 km of trails close to the ridgeline, and a Nordic park

The Route des Crêtes

The Route des Crêtes, accessible from spring to late autumn, depending on snow conditions, is an exceptional panoramic hiker4tourist route through forests, passes, balloons, lakes, pastures and splendid, privileged views over the Alsace plain, the Black Forest and, on clear days, as far as the peaks of the Alps! At 1424 m, the Grand Ballon (also known as the Ballon de Guebwiller) is the highest point in the Vosges massif. The summit can be reached on foot in 45 minutes round trip from the Chalet Hôtel parking lot on the Route des Crêtes. From up there, you can enjoy panoramic views over the Alsace plain, the Jura and the Alps. In winter, you can enjoy downhill and cross-country skiing, as well as snowshoeing...
